The Super Eagles of Nigeria will today kickoff their Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers campaign against the Lone Stars of Liberia.
Camping opened 5days ago for Super Eagles with the arrivals Daniel Akpeyi and Adekunle Adeleke. With all 29 invited players in camp, the team is in high spirit and the coaches and players are confident of a win against the Lone Stars.
The match day one fixture will take place at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere, Lagos.
Analysts and commentators have cautioned the players and technical crew to be weary of the threat that Liberia can muster.
The Sports minister, Sunday Dare and the NFF helmsman Amaju Pinnick visited the camp of the Eagles and gave assurances of government’s support to the team.
He however challenged the players to give their maximum best and ensure they are victorious in the group C fixture. Stating that Nigerians expect nothing less from them.
Sunday Dare equally used the visit to thank the players for the sacrifices they make and for choosing to wear the national jersey.
The Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifying match is scheduled to kickoff by 5pm Nigerian time.
