The Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abraham Ingobere, has received the branded jersey of the Prosperity Cup, Nigeria’s biggest grassroots football spectacle, ahead of the tournament’s kick-off.

The presentation of the jersey was made at Ingobere’s residence in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, by members of the Central Organizing Committee, led by Head of Governmental Affairs and Community Relations, Rev Vincent Dowell.

The Prosperity Cup is set to kick off this weekend, with matches scheduled to take place in Sangana and Okpoama centres in Brass Local Government Area of the State. Ingobere is expected to take the kick-off at the Sangana centre, where Tough Dynamite FC will face off against Brass Boys FC.

In a statement, Ingobere expressed his delight that the tournament has become a pride of grassroots football in the nation, describing it as a launchpad for discovering talents. He noted that the continuous growth of the tournament is a testament to the governor’s commitment to developing sports in the state.
