The Nigeria Scrabble Federation’s (NSF) “Take Scrabble To School Initiative” recently arrived at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) in Zaria, Kaduna State. NSF President, Engineer Toke Aka, led the initiative, donating scrabble equipment to the university and staging a mini tournament.

Aka emphasized the importance of introducing scrabble to schools, stating that the future of the mind game belongs to the youth. He noted that over 75% of universities and higher institutions in Nigeria have already adopted the initiative, with more expected to join in the coming months.

The donation of four complete sets of scrabble boards and tables to the newly created ABU Scrabble Club is part of the NSF’s efforts to promote the sport among students. The university’s Sports Director, Dr. Danlami Isa, received the equipment and expressed gratitude to Aka, stating that it will encourage more students to take up the sport.
