The NWFL premier league resumes today after the Christmas and New Year festivities as Ibom Angels battles Edo Queens in Uyo.
The week 5 NWFL encounter is billed for the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium training pitch by 4pm.
Some of the players of Ibom Angels spoke to the media and they were confident of the team’s fortune being turned around in today’s clash with Edo Queens FC, recalling how they lost in their last match at home to FC Robo Queens 3-2.
Charity Isaiah, the assistant captain of the club believes that in every sphere of life there is that ability to rise from where you fall.
“We fall to rise again as we are hoping to win today’s match”
Also speaking, Adekemi Akintan, who has netted twice in four matches in the league so far added they are ready to go all out for the three points at stake.
“We are very optimistic about today’s match. Our last home match we lost but this time around we are willing and ready to put in all our best and I believe in my team, we’re going to win today’s match”
The youngest player of the team this season, Goodness Usen, who plays as an attacker was furious about the team’s dismal performance, while promising to put smiles back on the faces of the fans, especially the sponsors in today’s game .
“We don’t really love where we are on the log and we would try our best for today’s match. We will put in our best efforts, and fight with all our strength to ensure we win today’s match, so that our coaches, our state will be happy with us”
Edo Queens FC are currently top of Group B in the abridged league with nine points from four matches.
The Orange Ladies meanwhile lie sixth in the seven team group, with three points from four games.
