Former Super Falcons coach Edwin Okon has described Nigeria’s group B draw of the African Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) later this year in Cameroon as easy.
Falcons were pitted alongside Mali, Ghana and Kenya during the draw that was made on Sunday at the Palais Polyvalent des Sports in Yaoundé, Cameroon.
“The truth is that the group is simply, it’s an easy group if we get our act right we will be having the easiest qualification from the group.
“Our worry should not be on the old rivals, Ghana but the other West African foes, Mali.
“Although there is no pushover in the round leather game but there exist pushovers, too.
“We should be highly excited seeing ourselves in the group at the upcoming AWCON in Cameroon.
“If we work very hard we should be able to defend the title successfully,” said the Rivers Angels head coach to supersport.com.
