Nigeria Prepares For 2nd Pan African Youth Scrabble Championship In Kenya

Ten players from Nigeria are set to represent their country at the 2nd Pan African Youth Scrabble Championship in Machakos County, Kenya.

Led by Nigeria Scrabble Federation (NSF) President Engineer Olobatoke Aka, Team Nigeria is confident of dominating the competition, just as they did two years ago in Lagos.

-Number of Players: 10 players (7 male, 3 female)
-Sponsorship: Four players sponsored by Kwara State, two by Bayelsa State, and one each by Lagos, Edo, Niger, and Akwa Ibom states.

-Players:
-Female: Sophia Ekeruche, Joy Eberechukwu Nwabuzor, Eliana Igbe
-Male: Saviour Onazi, Hassan Olojoku, Sufyan Olojoku, Abdulqudus Aliu, Khalid Olosun, Prestige Archibong, Damilola Adeleke

-Location: Brighton International School, Syokimau, Machakos County, Kenya
-Categories: Under 15 and Under 19
-Participants: 150 players from 11 countries.

Engineer Aka expressed confidence that Nigeria will retain all titles won two years ago in Lagos. The championship trophy has toured various African countries to raise awareness.

Top 10 players in each category will share a $3,225 prize fund, laptops, and tablets.
