Technical adviser of FC Ifeanyiubah, Mitko Dobrev wants the players to go all out and win on Sunday when they face MFM FC in the NPFL matchday 38 fixture at Agege Stadium, Lagos.

Dobrev was speaking from the team’s camp in Lagos and said that getting a continental ticket for next season will be a perfect show of appreciation to the club proprietor and president, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah.

“Getting a continental ticket will be a very big thing for our club. As you know our project is just two years old, so if we are able to get the ticket it will be a very big gift to our president, Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah who has invested heavily in this club and also been there for us,” Dobrev said.

When asked about the readiness of the team for Sunday’s big match against MFM, Dobrev expressed optimism that the players have the capacity to deliver their target on Sunday.

“It’s been an intense one month for us, we have played a lot of matches and also travelled some long distances with the last being the Federation Cup semifinals in Kaduna. However, we are fully focused and motivated for Sunday’s match and we will do our very best. MFM are a very good side but I am sure that if we play to our strength, we will get a win. It is going to be a tough game but I am confident we will get the victory,” he said to the club’s media.

The Bulgarian tactician went on to say that he will prefer the Champions League to the Confederation Cup.

“I would love us to pick up the Champions League. It’s the most prestigious competition in Africa. I have had the honour of playing in that tournament with Hearts of Oak, Heartland and Enyimba and I would love to have that feeling again. Moreover the exposure my players will get from this tournament is another reason I prefer the Champions League,” he explained

FC Ifeanyiubah are in third place on the table, needing a win to pick up a Champions League if second-placed Rivers United fail to win in Uyo against Akwa United.
