Kano Pillars winger, Prince Aggreh, has told npfl.ng that he is ready to roll up his sleeves, fight for a first-team place and put up a better performance in the 2016/17 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season after a disappointing outing last term.

Aggreh and his teammates could only help Kano Pillars finish in seventh position on 52 points, 11 behind champions Rangers and had to endure big defeats on the road as well in between the campaign.

The former Sunshine Stars man has now vowed that they will give an arm and a leg to restore the pride of Sai Masu Gida, who have finished outside of the top-three in these past two seasons.

The winger is also keen on upping the ante on a personal level in the coming season.

He urged the club supporters to stand with the team as they intend to make amends in the new season.

“Football is about team work that stretches past the on-field activities to the off; the management, players, fans and other stakeholders here must support this cause for us to bounce back.

“I urge our fans to support the Pillars squad. We have disappointed them by performing below expectations last season, but they should bear in mind that the torrid times are over and their backup will serve as a ladder to climbing any mountain next term.

“We are still a great team in the Nigerian top flight and that stance can be strengthened again. All we need do is go back to the drawing board, sort out our mistakes, then see how best to approach the new season.

“As for the players, self-belief should be our watchword, that is key to a professional delivery. I am also expectant that some new players will be brought in as soon as a new technical head is appointed

“I am back from holidays to resume normal duties at Pillars. I am ready to fight for my shirt, put up a better performance, compared to last term and hopefully help the team return to their glory days,” Aggreh told npfl.ng.

Aggreh scored four league goals last season for Kano Pillars including an opening day late strike that helped his team defeat Rangers 2-1 at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.
