NFF Breaks Ground For State-of-the-Art Players’ Hostel And Training Pitches

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is set to mark a significant milestone with the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a 68-room Players’ Hostel and new training pitches in Abuja.

The ceremony, to be performed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas GCON, kicks off a 24-month project funded by FIFA through its FIFA Forward 3.0 program.

The NFF-FIFA Players’ Hostel, which will be located at the heart of Package B of the MKO Abiola National Stadium, will feature 62 single rooms, four suites, and two executive suites.

The facility will be accompanied by two new training pitches, one synthetic and one natural grass, as well as the re-construction of the existing synthetic pitch.

NFF President, Ibrahim Musa Gusau, expressed his excitement about the project, stating that it will enhance team management, reduce expenditure, and enable the federation to commit more funds to grassroots development programs.

FIFA’s Deputy Chief Member Associations Officer and Regional Director (Africa), Gelson Fernandes, praised the project, highlighting its potential to drive football development in Nigeria.

The ceremony will be attended by several dignitaries, including the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, and 10 legends of Nigeria football, including Olusegun Odegbami, Augustine ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha, and Nwankwo Kanu.
