Following the successful completion of the 2021/22 Nigeria Professional Football League Season, one of the NPFL teams, Nasarawa United, have sent a message of appreciation to their teeming Supporters and Fans across the country and beyond, for standing by them throughout the league season.
Chairman, Chief Barr. Isaac Danladi, on behalf of the Club’s hierarchy, said, “We wish to express our deepest appreciation to the number one Supporter of the Club, His Excellency, Engr. A.A. Sule, Executive Governor, Nasarawa State, for his unquantifiable moral and financial support to our beloved team.
“Also, we thank, in a very special way, His Excellency, the Deputy Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe who is the system’s stabilizer that has kept the house together, even in some critical moments.
“Special thanks to the Right Honourable Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, for the love he has been showing to our dear Club. Not forgetting the House Committee Chairman on Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Salihu Musa Iyimoga; we acknowledge you.”
Barr. Danladi equally appreciated the State’s Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Amb. Lucky Isaac Yargwa, and other critical stakeholders.
“Many thanks go to our young and energetic Sports Commissioner, Hon. Lucky Isaac Yargwa. You are a big treasure with your numerous support.
“Our appreciation goes to the State Football Association under the leadership of Alh. Alkali Mohammed(SK), the Plateau and Bauchi States’ Football Associations and their wonderful fans for availing us their stadium facilities to be used as our home ground(s), Sports Writers’ Association of Nigeria and other critical stakeholders as well as the good people of Nasarawa State who see the Club as a priority project and always support the team as an asset.
“To our numerous supporters and fans across the State and beyond, we are grateful.
“To our committed and disciplined players, technical crew and backroom staff, you are the real heroes. We owe you a special appreciation for your doggedness and determination in giving your best to the Club always.
The Club’s supremo who also chairs the NPFL Club Owners’ Association and member of the NFF Technical and Development Committee, however, reassured supporters and fans of the Club of a better outing in the future.
“Though our aspiration was to be in the continent having narrowly lost the opportunity last season, but we are grateful to Almighty God for making us finish amongst the best six clubs on the table, despite our nomadic nature as a result of the ongoing upgrade of the the Lafia City Stadium which made us play away from home in other cities.
“We will now focus on the Aiteo Federation Cup.
“We wish to reassure you all that the Management and entire team will do everything possible to rejig the Club for better performance next season and to actualize our continental aspirations with trophies.”
Nasarawa United ended the 2021/22 Nigeria Professional Football League Season on 6th position after their final league day 1-0 away victory over MFM FC at the Otunba Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu-ode, Ogun State, on Sunday,17th July, 2022.
