Nasarawa United FC is mourning the tragic loss of its former attacker, Abubakar Lawal, who died in a car accident while representing his Ugandan Premier Football Club, Vipers Sports Club.
The club expressed its deepest condolences to Lawal’s family, friends, teammates, and loved ones, describing his passing as an “incredibly difficult time.”
Lawal, a former Nigerian junior international, was remembered for his exceptional talent, dedication, humility, and passion for football. He played a crucial role in helping Nasarawa United FC win the 2019 Ahlan Preseason Football Tournament in Kano.
The club’s Director of Media, Eche Amos, stated that Lawal’s legacy would live on in their hearts, and they would cherish the fond memories shared with him on and off the pitch.
On behalf of the club’s Chairman, Mr. Solomon Babanjah, and the entire management and staff, Amos prayed for God to grant Lawal’s soul eternal rest and provide his family and the football fraternity with the strength to bear the loss.
Lawal’s passing has sent shockwaves through the football community, and he will be deeply missed by his fans and colleagues.
