The Council also commended the focus of the MD/CEO of the Nasarawa Investment and Development Agency, Ibrahim A. Abdullahi, and his team for putting together the Summit and assembling the caliber of personalities who graced the event.

NYCN believes that given these developments in the state, the consideration of young people for leadership positions in the state has been justified and if more young persons are considered and supported in leadership positions, much more shall be achieved in the state.

The Council pointed out that to further consolidate the accomplishments recorded under Governor Sule-led administration, and to ensure the security of investments in the mining and agricultural sector, the meeting resolved to host a peace and security summit given the skirmishes recorded in some parts of the state. These include Toto, Kokona, Udege, Giza, Wamba and Doma local government areas.

The meeting also resolved to support every effort of Nasarawa State Government in the promotion of peaceful coexistence among various groups, youth development initiatives and, to equally continue to partner with government at all levels and security agencies in the areas of intelligence gathering and sharing, conflict resolution and rehabilitation.

The Council also expressed concern about the difficult situations confronting the youth and by extension the people of the state as a result of the removal of subsidy on petrol that has now caused an astronomical increase in the cost of transportation and the prices of commodities.

It called on the state government to take further steps and do more to address the economic difficulties by rolling out more palliatives and other measures to ameliorate the sufferings of our people.

The Council also resolved to undertake a tour of the 13 local governments and 18 development areas of the state to engage with youth leaders, traditional rulers and other critical stakeholders on the promotion of peace and security in preparation to the forthcoming security summit.
