The Niger Delta Sports Festival (NDSF) has announced the appointment of renowned sports journalist and administrator, Aisha Falode, as Special Advisor on Communications. The appointment was made by Itiako Ikpokpo, Lead Consultant and Co-Chairman of the Main Organising Committee of the festival.
Falode, a dynamic leader with over 25 years of experience in the sports industry, is expected to bring her expertise in sports media marketing, business ownership, and strategic leadership to boost the festival’s communication strategy.
According to Ikpokpo, “The Niger Delta Sports Festival is not just about sports, it’s about our culture, our people, and the youth. Bringing Falode on board will enhance our strategic communication of these values, given her professional attainment and her roots in the Niger Delta.”
Falode’s appointment has been endorsed by several sports personalities, including ace sports journalist, Mitchel Obi, and Pamodzi Sports Marketing boss, Mike Itemuagbor. Obi described Falode as “the right fit” for the role, citing her professional capacity, media reach, and understanding of the Niger Delta story.
Itemuagbor commended Ikpokpo for the appointment, saying, “I have worked with Aisha from her days at Africa Independent Television (AIT). She is a thoroughbred and has come a long way from her work in television to working with the NFF, CAF, and FIFA in different media capacities at tournaments.”
Falode is the CEO of MSports, a company that specializes in delivering exceptional sports content and impactful marketing campaigns.
She was elected into the Executive Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) in 2022 and served as the Director of Competition for the Aisha Buhari six-nation Cup. From 2017 to 2022, Falode served as the Chairperson of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL).
