Wikki Tourists relentlessly fought back but the defence Marshal of the flying Eagles proved a hard nut to crack.

Pockets of free kick chances were won by Wikki Tourists but the free kick specialist Nelson Abiam could not find his rythm as non of the kicks he took was successful taking the game into the break.

Four substitutions were made by Wikki Tourists immediate after resumption into the second half but no tangible infact was made although John Taiwo showed some skillful moves which were occasionally checked by the home team.

Two minutes to the end of the game the Flying Eagles got their second goal through Ogunsanya Segun who capitalised on an error by Wikki Tourists goalkeeper when he tried clearing the ball from a pass by his defender but the ball hit Segun’s leg and went straight into the net making it 2-0 as final whistle was blown.

POST MATCH INTERVIEW:
Coach Abdullahi Adamu of Wikki Tourists:

My team played very well but fatigue was their major undoing because we arrived late to the match venue from Bauchi and you can imagine the stress.

Secondly some of our key players are down with injuries and could not come with us.

I’m impressed by their performance even though there are areas we noticed some lapses which we are going to work on before the league starts.

As you must have noticed, scoring goals has been a major problem not only to WIkki Tourists but even the U20 because if not for the free kick and what happened at the dying minutes of the game that gave them the second goal they could not have scored any goal, Coach Abdullahi emphasized.

The friendly match was organized specifically to test players that will deck Wikki Tourists colours in the coming Nigeria Professional Football league Season.

Although the Interim Management Committee for the league is yet to come up with a tentative date for the commencement of the 2022/23 league season, indications from some quarters however said that the league may start on the 28th of December 2022.
