Arsenal in Win or Burst Against Monaco

Ahead of the return fixture of their champions league round of 16 clash against French side AS Monaco tonight, Arsenal manger, Arsene Wenger is confident his team can stage a successful comeback and progress into the quarter finals. The English side lost the first leg at home by three goals to one and face an uphill task in its quest to make progress in the elite European club competition.

Wenger’s belief in his team’s ability to turn the tide in their favour is reinforced by wins in their last two outings, one against Manchester United in an FA cup game at old Trafford, the other against West Ham United at the weekend in a premiership match.

Information gathered from the Gunners camp indicate a very high level of concentration and focus from players and officials alike, united with one intent which is to beat Monaco and progress to the next round. Arsenal manager, Wenger spent seven years as manager of Monaco, leading the club to win the French league title in 1988 as well as the French cup. Though he admits it will be an emotional return to Monaco, but insist his loyalty is with Arsenal. The match kicks off 8.45pm local time.
