Ahead of the Day2 Qatar2022 fixture of the Super Eagles, the Chairman of one of the team’s sponsors have challenged the Eagles to make sure they grab the 3 points at stake.
Allen Onyema, who doubles as the CEO of Air Peace, speaking to the team as they departed for Cape Verde, asked them to give their best to win the away game for Nigerians. He opined that football unifies Nigerians regardless if their ethnicity.
He says the expectation is that as they have won the first match the case would not be different when the fly out against the Blue Sharks. The Air Peace headhoncho says football is a rallying point for Nigerians going by what the nation is experiencing.
Hence the Super Eagles should do whatever is necessary to win and inspire hope in the hearts of Nigerians.
Onyema who addressed the squad around 2am in the morning says ‘you are not just going to play a football match. You are going to be carrying on your young shoulders the aspirations and the hope.’
He added that ‘football is a unifying factor and that is why we have decided to key in to associate with you at this period of time, because we want to restore hope to our nation.’
He stressed that the Super Eagles should be mindful of the fact that the whole nation is behind them. Not just because they want them to win, but that victory will promote peace and unity of the nation.
In conclusion Allen Onyema promised the team that if the win the Qatar2022 Day2 away match he would present the Super Eagles with a cash gift of 20 Million Naira.
The Super Eagles play the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde on Tuesday, September 7th, 2021 at Estàdio Municipal Adérito Sena.
