The former Nasarawa United weapon of mass destruction was on target in the 83rd minute in his team’s matchday six home win against 14-placed Helsingborg in the sixteen-team Swedish top-division League, Allsvenskan, during the weekend.

After scores were tied at 1-1 apiece going into the break, the energetic attacker was introduced in the 67th minute for David Lofquist and it took the immediate past NPFL highest goalscorer only sixteen minutes to score the match decider, muscling his way from the middle of the pack through the heavy traffic before slotting a dummy past the visitors’ goalkeeper, Kalle Joelsson, sending the fans at the Strandvallen stadium into wild celebrations.

The result was enough to lift Mjallby AIF to 2nd position on the league standings, three points behind Hammarby IF, and will next face 3rd-placed Malmo FF with twelve points during the weekend before returning to host Vaernamo a week later.

It was Silas’ second goal in three appearances for his club in the current Swedish elite campaign and currently stands tied with fellow teammates, David Lofquist and Moro Mamudo as leading goalscorers in the league.

The striker registered his first goal after coming on as a substitute in the Swedish League in his debut appearance against visiting Sirius on 20th April, 2022, on matchday four.
