In a bid to enhance security and reduce crime, Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Chairman, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, has unveiled plans to install solar-powered Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras across black spots within the local government. This initiative marks the first of its kind in Lagos State.
The CCTV cameras aim to provide an additional layer of security, ensuring the safety of lives and properties of residents. Chairman Oloyede emphasized his commitment to transforming Oshodi’s security narrative, making it an attractive hub for business and investment.
To further bolster security, the council will provide security vehicles to the three divisional police stations within the council. These vehicles will be stationed in black spots to prevent crime, maintain law and order, and improve response times.
Chairman Oloyede also pledged to improve welfare packages for security agencies, ensuring they are motivated to maintain optimal security levels. “We are determined to ensure the continued security and safety of our people, their businesses, and properties at all times,” he stated.
This development is part of Oloyede’s administration’s efforts to prioritize security, building on his previous achievements in infrastructure development, including the rehabilitation of roads, drainages, and markets.
