Kenyan Runners Dominate Enugu City International Marathon

Kenyan athletes showcased their prowess in the inaugural Enugu City International Marathon, held in Enugu, Nigeria. Koros Ken emerged as the overall winner, claiming the top prize of $15,000.

Kenyan runners swept the top three spots in the men’s category, with Steve Rasway finishing second ($10,000) and Bernard Sang taking third place ($5,000). In the women’s category, Shauline Chepkiru Koech of Kenya secured the top spot.

While Kenyans dominated the elite categories, Nigerian runner Davou Ezekiel from Jos excelled among local athletes, winning the three million Naira prize designated for indigenous athletes.

Governor Peter Mbah participated in the 10km race and expressed satisfaction with the event’s organization and participation. He praised the potential of sports to galvanize youth and pledged to enhance the marathon’s quality and scale in future editions.
