The National Sports Commission (NSC) has expressed satisfaction with Ogun State’s level of preparedness ahead of the 22nd National Sports Festival, tagged Gateway Games 2024.
The festival is scheduled to take place from May 16-30, 2025.
NSC Director General, Hon. Bukola Olopade, commended the Ogun State Government for their commitment and high level of preparedness during an inspection of facilities earmarked for the Games. Olopade, who doubles as the Chairman of the Main Organising Committee, praised Governor Dapo Abiodun for the remarkable work done on the facilities.

Key Highlights of the Inspection
– Athletics Venue: The throws segment of athletics will take place at the MKO stadium due to its excellent Astroturf.
– Security Measures: The stadium boasts world-class cameras covering the 360-degree environment, providing real-time pictures of activities.
– Abeokuta Golf Course: The NSCDG assured the commission’s commitment to providing necessary equipment, which will serve as legacies.
Festival Logo, Theme Song, and Mascot Unveiled
The inspection coincided with the unveiling of the Festival Logo, Theme song, and Mascot. The theme song, titled “E’kaabo” (Welcome), was composed by Dr. Bayo Adepetun, while the mascot, “Omo Ogun,” reflects the energy and cultural heritage of Ogun State.

The NSC and Ogun State Government are putting the finishing touches on their bid to stage a world-class Games, expected to be one of the best-organized events in the history of the National Sports Festival.
