The Supporters’ Club of Nasarawa United FC, on Saturday, decorated Governor Abdullahi Sule as her Grand Patron.
Leading the delegation to the unveiling, Chairman of the Supporters’ Club, Ali Jibrin ‘Baggio’ told the Governor that his uncommon achievements in sports, particularly football, warranted the resolve by his leadership to confer on the Governor the Grand Patronship title.
This he says is with the hope that it would inspire the number one citizen of the State and chief financier of the Solid Miners to do more both for the return of the Club to top-tier football in Nigeria and advance to continental competitions.
Highpoint of the short ceremony which took place on the sideline of the Nasarawa United versus Zamfara United match-day one tie of the 2023/24 Nigeria National League campaign where the home side eventually won 1-0 at the Lafia City Stadium, was the presentation of a plaque and decoration of the Governor with a ‘Grand Patron’ insignia.
