The National Sports Commission (NSC) has given its full backing to the Niger Delta Sports Festival (NDSF), recognizing its potential to uncover and nurture emerging sporting talent.
Shehu Dikko, Chairman of the NSC, will officially declare the festival open, highlighting the Commission’s commitment to promoting grassroots sports development across Nigeria.
Bukola Olopade, Director General of the NSC, praised the initiative, stating that the NDSF represents a vital platform for discovering and nurturing raw talent. He encouraged more states to adopt similar programs to expand Nigeria’s talent pool and strengthen its sporting future.
The festival has received a significant boost with the unveiling of PremiumTrust Bank as its official bank.
The event will take place from April 1 to 8 in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, bringing together athletes from across the region to compete in various sporting disciplines.
The Niger Delta Sports Festival aims to showcase budding talents, foster regional unity, and promote youth engagement in sports. With the NSC’s support, the festival is poised to make a significant impact on Nigeria’s sporting landscape.
