Nasarawa United Mourn Death Of Rising Referee, Kingsley Nnaemeka

Management and Staff of Nasarawa United have expressed their shock at the sudden demise of rising referee, Kingsley Nnaemeka due to a motor accident.

A statement signed by Eche Amos, Media Officer, Nasarawa United, says: “We are saddened to learn of the sudden death of Kingsley Nnaemeka, one of the referees who officiated our Nigeria Professional Football League match-day five tie against Plateau United FC at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna, on Wednesday, 1st February, 2023.

We gathered that Kingsley passed away in an auto crash along Abuja-Kogi express road while returning to his base in Abia State, a day after the game between Nasarawa United and Plateau United”.

The release went on to state that:”The deceased was a gentleman to a fault; a promising referee who knew his onions; and a purpose-driven young man with so much in store for the future.

His demise is a big blow to the Nigeria Referees’ Association, Nigeria Football Federation, Interim Management Company, Nigeria Professional Football League, and all sports lovers across the globe”.

The club says that theirĀ  thoughts and prayers are with his immediate family, Abia State, Abia State Referees Council, the Nigeria Football Federation the Nigeria Referees’ Association and Interim Management Committee.

Even as they pray that God will grant his soul eternal repose in heaven.
