The management of Nasarawa United has sent a sympathy message to Silas Nwankwo, a former player of the club and NPFL topscorer over his recent injury setback.

A statement signed by Barr Isaac Danladi, chairman of the club reads:

“On behalf of the entire Management, Staff, Coaches, Players and Supporters of Nasarawa United FC, I wish to send our heartfelt sympathy to our former player and 2021/22 Nigeria Professional Football League’s highest goal scorer cum Best Home-based Men’s Footballer of the Year, Silas Nwankwo, who ruptured his cruciate ligament while in action for his Swedish elite Club, Mjällby AIF”.

The statement also revealed that the injury will rule the energetic attacker out of action for the next nine to twelve months.

Barr Dalandi added that “No club would wish any of its players or members to get injured.

As a Club, our prayers and thoughts are with Silas Nwankwo during this painful period.

While praying for a successful surgery, we offer our sympathy and get-well-soon wishes to the prolific striker”.
