The Lagos State Government has review the State Properties Protection Law, LSPPL, 2016 to expunge option of fines to any convicted landgrabber(s) with mandatory six years jail term to serve as deterrence to others.
To this end, contrary to purported news circulated round the internet on 28th November 2022 by SaharaReporters that hoodlums were arrested after invading Odogbawojo community with firearms to perform their land grabbing ‘’Duties.’’
The news reported it that Nine hoodlums, terrorising Eti-Osa, Oreki Village, Ibeju Lekki and Epe Area of Lagos State that allegedly working for renowned land grabbers , Abubakar Maiyaki (AKA ajagungbale) and Taiwo Enitiodunmo (AKA T9) were nothing but a pure envy , Untrue , mudslinging, vilification and false imputation against me (Alhaji Abubakar Maiyaki).
It was also wrongly and malicious reported that the nine suspects were arrested by the officers from Naforija police station with series of prohibited firearms. All these are efforts been put in place by our contemporary who are finding their surviving tricks in the field of real estate business.
Without taken much of your time, I Alhaji Abubakar Maiyaaki will not go by the way of vendetta but I will let the good people of Epe and it’s environ and other people that might have read the purported stories that was untrue about me.
On this faithful day, my Staff had an information that some groups of people were on the company land that I legitimately purchased from Olora of Ora Royal Family with a clear and clean title by the whole family for development purpose. On their way to my land, Naforija Police officers met Eight (8) member of my staff on their way back to the site and they were all arrested and later tag them as land grabber working for me and Enitiodunmo. I am not pointing accusing fingers unto Naforija police station for quickly transferring the matter to state command for through investigation.
As it was alleged, that I am working with Enitiodunmo who was recently released from Homicide at DIG Force C.I.D Cell through the influence of one ACP Sanusi attached to SWAT was equally untrue because there was nothing of such in the records of Nigeria police .
I want the general public and good people of Epe to be aware that I am not in any way contravention of the Lagos State Properties Law and I was not hired to invade the Odogbawojo community with firearms or on whatsoever deprive anybody to gain access to their farmland. My presence at odogbawojo was aimed at developing the acres of land that I bought from Ora Royal Family for development purpose
I want the general public to aware that the investigation of all the malicious allegation have concluded and the matter has been charged to magistrate court for fair hearing of the matter in order to give justice to whosoever that deem fit.
