15-Year-Old Ridwan Isiaq Wins Quranic Competition, Takes Home N1 Million Prize

The 5th annual Quranic Competition, held at Penckers School in Isolo, Lagos, came to a close on Sunday with 15-year-old Ridwan Isiaq emerging as the winner of the star prize of N1 million.

The competition, organized by Ilerioluwa Organization and Penckers Schools, aims to promote the legacy of late Alhaja Wasilat Ayinde-Marshal and encourage young Muslims to seek knowledge of Allah.

The highly competitive event featured young Islamic scholars competing in Quranic memorization and melodious recitation.

In the first category, Ridwan Isiaq amassed the highest points, followed by Mu’az Bada and Yusuf Abdul-Muqsit, who came second and third, respectively, winning N500,000 and N250,000 each.

In the second category, Mustopha Ajibola AlBaazily and Al-Amin Mas’ud shared the first spot, while Adam Abdullah and Abdusalam Ali came second and third, respectively, winning N500,000, N250,000, and N150,000.

 

The event was attended by dignitaries, including the Executive Chairman of Isolo LCDA, Olasoju Adebayo, who is the sole sponsor of the event. Other notable attendees included the chairmen of Ajeromi-Ifelodun LGA and Iba LCDA, Hon. Fatai Adekunle Ayoola and Hon. Yisa Abiola Jubril.

The competition featured a special Fidau prayer for the late Wasilat and the late Osolo of Isolo, HRM Kabiru Alani Agbabiaka Adeola Olusi II.

The event also included the presentation of prizes to winners and participants, including cash gifts, 10kg bags of rice, Ankara fabrics, and other items.
