Chairman of Nasarawa United FC, Chief Barr. Isaac Danladi, has charged his wards to aim for nothing but total victory when they confront their hosts, Heartland FC, at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri, Imo State, in their first 2021/22 Nigeria Professional Football League game.

Chief Danladi gave the charge shortly after the team’s light training session on Saturday evening at the hosts’ facilities in Owerri.

“I know we are ready to kickstart the league on a high note.

“We should never get distracted by anything. We have never lost on this ground for a very long time, at least, since I became Chairman of the Club, so we can’t afford to lose here now.

“Let’s win this game as a Christmas gift for our Governor, our fans, ourselves, and all right-thinking indigenes of Nasarawa State.

“Our dearly beloved Governor, His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, has sent his prayers and blessings.

“He said I should tell you that Allah(God), Himself and The entire state are solidly with us in tomorrow’s game and other subsequent games.

“So, I am here to identify with all of you to encourage you to win this match here on Sunday(tomorrow).

“I can see you are fully charged up for the task ahead, and we shouldn’t forget to take advantage of their loopholes so as to make everyone in the State proud.

“I am glad that officiating has improved, so, I wish us good luck”, he stated.

Speaking on behalf of the players, last Season’s highest goalscorer and Most Valuable Player based in Nigeria, Silas Nwankwo(18 goals), thanked the Chairman for his encouragement, and promised to deliver on the mandate.

“We are here to encourage our supporters and fans that we are here for business, and with the help of God and our coaches, victory will be ours tomorrow.”

During the first-leg of the 2020/21 NPFL campaign, Nasarawa United snatched a 2-1 away victory over Heartland FC at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, with Chinedu Ohanachom(now with Heartland) and Silas Nwankwo scoring for the Solid Miners.

The Heartland versus Nasarawa United match comes up by 4pm today, Sunday, 19th December, 2021.
