In his concerted effort to strengthen ties between the Nasarawa State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development and the Traditional Institution in the State, Amb. Lucky Isaac Yargwa, Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, during the week, undertook a familiarization visit to some paramount rulers in Nasarawa North Senatorial District.
Among the Traditional Rulers visited were His Royal Highness, Rtd. Justice Lawal Musa Nagogo(Oriye Rindre of Wamba), His Royal Highness, Alh. Mustapha Bala Zubairu Adams(Gom Mama of Mama Chiefdom) and His Royal Highness, Samson Gamu Yare(Chun Mada, in Akwanga).
During the royal homage, the Commissioner disclosed that the Traditional Institution plays vital roles in the peace and development of any society, particularly in Nigeria where the Institution is held in high esteem.
He commended the efforts of the Royal Fathers for working tirelessly to ensure peaceful co-existence and by extension supporting the administration of Governor Abdullahi Sule in the latter’s effort to take the State to the promised land.
Amb. Yargwa added that as the country gears towards the electioneering periods, youth become the targets of desperate politicians who don’t mean well for the growth and development of the nation, hence the need to interface with the various proponents of ethno-religious and cultural set-ups in the State to help step down the message of peace, tolerance, unity and development for the general good of the society.
He explained that the visit was part of the Ministry’s deliberate effort to synergize with relevant stakeholders so as to make youth of the State become meaningfully engaged and productive, both to themselves and the society.
Separately, the Paramount Rulers appreciated the Commissioner and his team for embarking on such a noble project, describing it as laudable, apt and timely, pledging their support to its attainment.
Royal blessings were offered to the Commissioner and his delegation.
Those in the delegation of the Commissioner were Hon. Yakubu Mohammed Lawal (Commissioner for Information Culture and Tourism, Nasarawa State), Umar Abubakar(Director of Youth Development/Covering Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Sports Development), Hon.
