Plumptre who chose to play for the Super Falcons instead of England, is set to face the Lionesses in the round of 16 and  declares that the mood in the Falcon’s camp is great: “Everyone is in good spirits. We’ve produced some good performances and gotten good results already against top teams. We know England are also a top team but we believe in what we are building here and believe Mondays game will be a great battle where we can shock more people”.

In response to the accolades following her top class performance at the FIFA Women’s World Cup for the Falcons, she says: “I’ve really appreciated all the kind messages I’ve received while I’ve been here. The support hasn’t gone unnoticed. It’s means so much to me and the team to receive so much support while we are away.

Adding that: “Even though we are so far away, we’ve had some really loud supporters at all of our games and even when there have been more fans for the opposition, we’ve never not heard our fans. They have to be some of the loudest and most passionate fans out there”.
