…After 2–1 Comeback Win Over Sunshine Queens

Odoh Bibiana struck twice on Wednesday as Nasarawa Amazons came from behind to beat Sunshine Queens 2–1 at the Lafia City Stadium, clinching a place in the 2026 Nigeria Women Football League Premiership Super Six.

The visitors silenced the home crowd early, grabbing a 1–0 lead in the 10th minute. But Nasarawa Amazons refused to buckle. Their persistence paid off on the stroke of halftime when Bibiana unleashed a stunning strike from outside the box in the 46th minute to level the match at 1–1.

The Lafia side returned from the break with renewed intent. Just six minutes into the second half, Bibiana rose highest to head home her second in the 51st minute, completing her brace and putting the hosts 2–1 up.

Despite late pressure from Sunshine Queens, the Amazons held firm to secure all three points on Matchday 17. The victory confirms Nasarawa Amazons’ qualification for the NWFL Premiership Super Six Playoffs.

Christopher Danjuma’s side will now turn attention to their final regular-season game, an away trip to Lagos to face FC Robo on Matchday 18.
