Nasarawa United’s winning streak came to an end on Sunday as they suffered a 1-0 defeat to host Warri Wolves in Ozoro, Delta State, in match-day 15 of the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League.
Othuke Egbo scored the only goal of the match in the 7th minute, and the home side successfully defended their lead to claim all three points.
“We played better, missed a lot of goalscoring chances, but were just unlucky,” said Mangut Mbwas, Technical Adviser of Nasarawa United. “The league is still a marathon. We will recover as quickly as possible from today’s defeat.”
The result drops Nasarawa United to second place, tied with Ikorodu City on 27 points, while Warri Wolves move up to sixth place with 22 points.
Nasarawa United will look to bounce back when they host Shooting Stars Sport Club of Ibadan on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the Lafia City Stadium.
