Club Owners Salute Governor Wike For Exemplary Rewards To Rivers United FC

The Football Club owners Association of Nigeria have sent a special goodwill message to the Executive Governor of Rivers state Barr Nyesom Wike for his exemplary rewards to the players and officials of Rivers United Football Club.

Gov Wike had on Friday in Porthacourt doled out a whooping twenty thousand US dollars to each of the players and officials of Rivers United FC in fulfillment of his promise to the club for winning the 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL title.

Club Owners Association of Nigeria in a statement jointly signed by the Chairman Chief Barr Isaac Danladi and the Executive Secretary Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka described the gesture as historic, unprecedented and quite commendable, capable of changing the fortunes of the affected beneficiaries and by extension their families.

The Association specifically praised the governor for his numerous support and commitment to sports development generally and Football in particular, through the establishment of the Real Madrid Football ACADEMY in Porthacourt, making Rivers United one of the best clubs in Africa amongst others.

It further said that the gesture had in no doubt proven that the Governor’s title as the power of sports in Africa (POS) is not a fluke.

The Association assured him of its continous cooperation and recognition of his personality in all its toasts in the true spirit of sportsmanship.

Club Owners charged the players and officials of Rivers United FC to reciprocate the gesture by winning the CAF Confederation cup for Nigeria and to ensure proper investment of the Governor’s largesse as there would life after Football career.
