The Nasarawa State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development has expressed deep sadness over a tragic bus accident that claimed the lives of 20 athletes and officials from Team Kano, who were returning from the 22nd edition of the National Sports Festival held in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
In a condolence message signed by Hon. Kwanta Yakubu, Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Nasarawa State, the ministry extended its sincerest condolences to the Kano State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development and the people of Kano State. The message reads, “Our hearts and thoughts go out to the families, friends, and colleagues of the heroic deceased in the bus accident.”
The Nasarawa State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development firmly stands in solidarity with the Kano State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development and the entire Kano State people during this difficult time.
They prayed for the speedy recovery of those who survived the accident and for God to grant the departed athletes and officials eternal repose in heaven.
The ministry hopes that the legacies of the departed athletes and officials will live on through the countless lives they have touched. “May God continue to comfort us all during this dark hour”.
