Yargwa Charges New NAYES Intakes On Discipline, Hardwork

Nasarawa State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Amb. Lucky Isaac Yargwa, on Monday, paid a scheduled visit to the headquarters of the Nasarawa State Agency for Youth Empowerment Scheme, NAYES, in Lafia.

During the visit, the Commissioner was taken round various offices of the Agency by the State General Manager, Abdullahi Labaran Maina.

Yargwa was also led to the Scheme’s Data Capturing Unit and training ground where he met with newly recruited youth.

Addressing the new intakes, the Commissioner congratulated them for being shortlisted for the Scheme, urging them to be dedicated and shun any acts capable of plunging them into trouble.

“I want to congratulate all of you for being enlisted into the NAYES.

“Though this is not an armed Para-military Organisation, but it has been contributing to the peace and security of our dear State through intelligence gathering and valuable information sharing with other sister Security Agencies in the State in curbing crimes and other social vices.

“Most successes we have recorded in the fight against crime and criminalities in the State can be credited to the brave joint-efforts of the NAYES.

“So, you can see why the Government of Engr. Abdullahi Sule places high premium on the Agency and gives it all the necessary support to succeed.

“I charge you to adhere to the Scheme’s rules and regulations, be disciplined, dedicated, support the leadership of the Agency and ensure you join forces with this dispensation to eliminate or drastically reduce crimes and criminalities in the State.

“If anyone of you is harbouring any ulterior motive before joining this Agency, you better have a rethink as it will never be smooth-sailing for you.”

He thanked Governor Abdullahi Sule for approving the recruitment and training of over two hundred youth into the Scheme who will be deployed to different localities of the State to help maintain law and order.

The Commissioner added that during the period of the training exercise for the new intakes, he would periodically visit them to lend moral and other supports.

He equally commended NAYES for defying the odds and going on to win the maiden edition of Governor Abdullahi Sule Inter-Security Agencies Football Tournament.

Yargwa assured of his Ministry’s unalloyed support to the activities of the Scheme and its personnel for optimum performance.

Earlier, State General Manager of NAYES, Abdullahi Labaran Maina, applauded the Commissioner for the visit, noting that the Agency was the brainchild of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, disclosing that the success of the Scheme was dependent on the support it gets from the Ministry and State Government.

Recall that Governor Abdullahi Sule had recently approved the engagement and training of 250 youth of the State into the Scheme.

The new intakes will spend seven days in training camp before they will be fully integrated into the Scheme and subsequent deployment to their places of primary assignments.
