To mark the United Nations Childrens Day celebration, history will be recorded when global scholar, teacher and Nobel Laureate, number one citizen of the Autonomous Republic of Ijegba, Professor Wole Soyinka, lands in the campus of the Segun Odegbami International College and Sports Academy, SOCA, to spend what would be a memorable day with the lucky students.

The students have not slept well since the news was broken to them of the August visitor. They will have the unique opportunity to see, meet and interact with the renowned playwright, poet, novelist and social activist, and can ask any and all questions.

WS shall undertake a tour round the school before being entertained by the students with some artistic and cultural performances.

All the top farmers, hunters and palmwine tappers in Wasimi Orile have been mobilised to fete the Nobel Laureate with a treat of the best of their first ‘fruits’.

The event is an entirely private affair and NOT open to the public. It will have some parents and representatives of traditional heads as well as the local government in attendance.

The Ogun State Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Adeola Odedina, will also be in attendance in social collaboration.

Thursday, May 27, will be a day to remember in the history of SOCA and of Wasimi Orile, Ogun State.
