What We Lack Is GOOD AND SELFLESS LEADERSHIP…Leadership Is Everything

Peter Obi shut down the office of the First Lady in Anambra. He said governance was more serious than ceremonial frivolities that are not in the constitution.

Peter Obi ensured there was internet in Anambra schools. He reportedly brought in 30,000 units of computers to schools. If this was true, that’s awesome.

Peter Obi engages directly with school’s Senior Prefects to ascertain the needs in their schools and ensure they’re fixed. He goes to those schools with his Commissioners to sit and eat with the students.

Peter Obi took a close view of the Anambra Lodge in Abuja which was allegedly bought at the cost of 1 billion. He dashed the House out to the UN. In turn, Anambra state and schools leveraged this benevolence for international Agency support from the recipient. Strategic thinking.

Yet, when you hear Peter Obi, your blood pressures shoot up. Because you don’t want to discuss governance. You’re more interested in virtual acrimony and cantankerous arguments. This is why your nation has never moved forward. E mura si.

I have never met Obi and don’t know him. But as an individual, If BAT convinces me on governance issues, he gets my vote. If it’s Atiku that beats Obi on governance delivery, he gets my vote. If it’s Obi that convinces me that the average man on the street will now feel the impact of governance, he gets my vote. This nation is very rich and blessed with great natural resources, more than many nations of the world that are now richer and livable than us. What we lack is GOOD AND SELFLESS LEADERSHIP. Leadership is everything. Citizens here are so compliant and so patient….always pushing resiliently and enduring with self-generated power-supply, borehole water-supply, maiguard for nonexistent security and anything and everything to survive and they still pay taxes! They have no social welfare, no accountable disbursement of their taxes and nothing to show for all their votes of the past.

In this election, I shall open my heart and listen to who really means well for citizens of this nation this time around. I shall not be carried away by tribe, religion or other primordial sentiments that have constituted a block on our path to progress.

You’re welcome to engage and discourse clean development issues. Once you spew garbage because Peter Obi’s name, by some figment of your own imagination is threatening your support base, or once you insult anyone here because the person does not agree with you, control delete button-gun is cocked ready.

Citizens have really never enjoyed transparent leadership or accountable stewardship for some time in this nation. Lack of power, security, quality education, dignity. All because we put ahead issues that add no value to us in the selection of leaders. Then they fail us and we start mourning. Then we start again without any critical evaluation of why leaders fail us. Sit, think…

In 2023, we must be wise!
