Rep Raji Says Establishment Of Schools, Community Welfare Will Boost Socio-Economic Growth

Rep Wale Raji, representing Epe Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, says that the establishment of educational and welfare projects in his constituency was designed to create lasting socio-economic impact for the people.

Raji made this known during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos, on Tuesday .

He said that some of his constituency projects targeted at education, infrastructure, and community welfare.

According to him, the education sector remains a critical focus, adding that the establishment of new schools and rehabilitation of existing ones will promote literacy and community development.

He added that he has established no fewer than 5 schools across his constituency and built over 20 block of classrooms in existing public schools across his constituency.

The lawmaker said that once the school has been established by him, he handover the school to Lagos state government.

“It is Lagos state government that employs staff and pay their salaries in the newly established schools.

“While his office provides the necessary infrastructure to ensure smooth operations of the establish school, ” he said.

Raji said that under his welfare initiative, 150 elderly people aged 70 and above benefit from a monthly payment of N10,000 each, amounting to N1.5 million monthly, as part of efforts to support the aged in the constituency.

He added that over 20 roads had been facilitated by him within the last three years, all equipped with solar street lights to enhance security and reduce criminal activities at night.

He said that the Epe Grammar School Road, community stadium built in the school premises, the ICT centre, and provision of mattresses for students of the school are part of his completed education-based interventions in his constituency.

Raji said that he facilitated the construction of a new police quarters at Oke-Balogun, in Epe, to improve the welfare of security operatives and enhance policing efficiency in the area.

The lawmaker said that contract had been awarded for the construction of a modern livestock market in the constituency, which would be completed in two months, to boost local trade and employment opportunities.

Raji reinstate his commitment to delivering people-oriented projects that would foster sustainable development and improve the standard of living for residents of Epe Federal Constituency.
