Weightlifting duo of Rafiatu Folashade Lawal and Adijat Adenike Olarinoye will this evening begin Nigeria’s hunt for gold and silver medals when they compete in the 59kg women’s category at the ongoing 2024 Africa Senior Weightlifting Championship, in Egypt.
Both lifters won three Gold and three silver medals respectively during the 2023 edition in Tunisia in May.
The Championship which also serves as Paris 2024 qualifiers began yesterday with the opening ceremony.
Lawal and Adenike will begin their hunt for medals at the senior championship by 4pm Nigeria time.
