Nasarawa United Football Club has unveiled eight high-profile players in a major squad overhaul ahead of the commencement of the second stanza of the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League Season.

The new signings, unveiled at a press conference at the Lafia City Stadium, bring a wealth of experience, skill, and determination to the squad.

They include central defender Benson Abbey from Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan, left back Peace Dewan from Sunshine Stars of Akure, and attacking midfielder Abubakar Aliyu from Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan.

Other new acquisitions include central midfielder Solomon Chigozie from Kwara United FC of Ilorin, winger Peter Eneji from Busaiteen FC of Bahrain, centre forward Ugochukwu Leonard from Heartland FC of Owerri, winger Benjamin Jack from Golden Boot FC of Benin Republic, and winger Onyema Emmanuel from Ikorodu City FC of Lagos.

According to Club Chairman Solomon Babanjah, the new signings are a major statement of intent from the club. “We are confident that these signings will help us achieve our goals in the second stanza of the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League Campaign,” he said.

Technical Director Kabir Dogo noted that the arrival of the new players would be a turning point for the club. “We are very confident that they will help us to compete at the highest level and bring success to the Club,” he said.

The Solid Miners will face Katsina United in their first match of the second stanza on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the Lafia City Stadium. The club hopes to unveil a few more players in the coming days before embarking on close camping activities at a yet-to-be-disclosed venue.
