Tyson Gay’s 15-year-old daughter Trinity, has been shot to death at a Kentucky restaurant on the morning of Sunday, October 16.
The Olympian’s daughter, Trinity Gay, who was herself an athlete was shot in the neck at Cook Out restaurant in Lexington and later died in the hospital.
Tyson Gay is a popular American runner who has competed in the last three Olympic Games.
The disconsolate runner made known that his daughter just got into Kentucky last week for a break.
“She didn’t make it. I’m so confused. She was just here last week for fall break. It’s so crazy. I have no idea what happened,” he told LEX 18.
According to police report, Trinity was shot during a shoot-out between two vehicles – a dark coloured sports car and a grey Dodge Charger.
Trinity was not in any of the cars and may have been just a bystander when she was shot at around 4am local time. She died an hour later at 5am.
Trinity Gay was a sophomore student at Lafayette High School where she had followed in her dad’s footsteps as a runner.
Like Tyson Gay, Trinity herself ran the 100 Metres and 200 Metres.
