Ex-Nigerian International Clement Temile has urge the Nigerian football fraternity and corporate Nigeria to support the present leadership of the League Management Company, led by Mallam Shehu Diko for the tremendous work so far done to transform the Nigerian league.

Temile who was a member of the Green Eagles in the 1980s, as the Nigerian National team was then called, said the fortune of the league and that of the players have taken a progressive turn going by the ingenuity of the present management of the league led by Shehu Diko.

According to the former Bendel Insurance player, in recent past the local league was in critical dilemma due to the selfish interest of those saddled with the responsibility of administering our league.

He said ” Those were some of the factors that led to the non-payment of players’ salary and allowances and all other problems that plagued the Nigerian Premier League.”

Clement Temile who also played for Beitar Netanya in Israel further posited that following the pragmatic and progressive disposition of Shehu Dikko’s led LMC, ”today as clearly seen the Nigerian Professional Football league (NPFL) now basks in a new dawn all because of the ingenuity of one right thinking man. The visible transformation of the NPFL is an assuring signal that the Shehu Diko led LMC is geared towards ensuring that the NPFL evolves into the most respected league among football playing nations.

Affirming that going by the time the present LMC leadership was established, Diko has proven that making our football league the most preferred  in the football league is achievable. Through honesty, transparency, selfless service and hardwork.

Temile who was a member of the silver winning Green Eagles squad to the 1984 Nations Cup, says all and sundry must rise up to support Diko and his team for the laudable work they have so far done.

”I will like to personally appeal to us to support the good work that is going on in the league. Let us do away with things that could take our football league backward, the time for change has come; true growth and development comes change.”

”My appeal to all and sundry is total support for Shehu Diko in order to bring more meaningful change to the NPFL. Today more resources are flowing into the league as a result of the leadership of LMC. Shehu Diko has successfully geared the NPFL towards a preferred destination and we all need to support him.”

Clement Temile is a Nigerian football coach and former player who was the manager of English side Kentish Town, who played at Step 5 of the English Non-League football pyramid.
