Rivers United Aim Maximum Points Against Kwara United


Rivers United will be aiming to take another step closer to the Nigeria Professional Football League title when they lock horns with Kwara United this weekend.

The Pride of Rivers travel to the Kwara Stadium Complex to take on the Afonja Warriors on Sunday May 1 as the Nigeria Professional Football League enters matchday 26 this weekend.

Stanley Eguma tutored side’s sensational 12-game unbeaten streak came to an end on matchday 24 at the hands of Sunshine Stars. But they bounced back to winning ways immediately and in style, beating Niger Tornadoes 3-0 earlier this week to open up a four-point lead at the top.

The “Afonja Warriors” suffered one of their biggest defeat in the NPFL so far this season in the reverse fixture against Rivers United on January 16, 2022 as goals from Nyima Nwagua, Ishaq Rafiu Kayode and Ebube Duru secured a comfortable 3-0 win for the “Pride of Rivers” in front of their fans at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.
