The countdown to the PremiumTrust Bank Abuja City Half Marathon has begun, with just four days to go before the highly anticipated event takes place on December 6.
Technical Director of the race, Yusuf Alli, a three-time Olympian, has expressed confidence that the second edition will surpass the success of the inaugural event.
“The PremiumTrust Bank Abuja City Half Marathon is poised to deliver a world-class experience that will further solidify its rapidly rising global profile,” Alli said. “We are expecting a number of elite runners from around the globe, including top athletes from Ethiopia and Kenya.”

The event has already made history as the only marathon in Nigeria to receive a label after just one edition, a testament to the exceptional organization and technical integrity of the event.
“We are committed to global best practices and technical integrity,” Alli emphasized. “We will have doping tests, and we’ve carried out blue marking of the route. We’ll also conduct a road tour with the athletes when they arrive.”
The PremiumTrust Bank Abuja City Half Marathon promises to be a celebration of athletic excellence, community spirit, and international sportsmanship, attracting both elite and recreational runners to Abuja.
