NSC Leadership Meets With President Bola Tinubu

The leadership of the National Sports Commission (NSC), led by Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko and Director General Hon. Bukola Olopade, met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa to present a progress report on the state of the sports sector.

Chairman Dikko expressed gratitude to the President for the trust placed in him and the DG, promising to justify the confidence reposed in the NSC’s new leadership. “We’re focused on propagating the Renewed Hope agenda through sports and ensuring Nigerian sports has a sustainable economic outlook,” Dikko said.

Director General Olopade echoed the Chairman’s remarks, thanking the President for his support to sports and pledging to deliver on their responsibilities. “We’re committed to being part of the legacies you want to leave behind in Nigerian sports,” Olopade stated.

The meeting reaffirmed President Tinubu’s commitment to revitalizing Nigeria’s sports sector through growth, sustainability, and private-sector collaboration. The NSC leadership pledged to maintain this momentum, ensuring the sports sector becomes a key player in the nation’s economy.

The meeting was also attended by Chief Adegboye Adeyinka, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroot Sports Development, who assured support for grassroots sports development.
