Nasarawa United Face Ajester FC In Pre-Season Tournament In Jos

Determined to become major title contenders in the forthcoming 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League Season, newly promoted Nasarawa United have shifted attention to the Gusau/Ahlan Pre-season Tournament set to kick-off today, Tuesday, 20th August, 2024, in the Tin City of Jos, Plateau State.

The Solid Miners who were crowned champions of the 2nd edition of the tournament after beating El-Kanemi Warriors FC of Maiduguri 1-0 in 2019 final in Kano, are placed in Group D of the one week-long 4th edition of the off-season football competition, alongside fellow NPFL club, Kwara United, with Kano Selected FC and Ajester FC completing the Quartet.

United will face Ajester FC on Tuesday, 20th August, 2024, by 8 o’clock in the morning at the New Jos International Stadium before the official opening game between Plateau United versus Barau FC by 4pm later today.

The Solid Miners’ remaining Group’s games are slated for Thursday, 22nd August, 2024, against Kano Selected FC by 4pm, and Saturday, 24th August, against Kwara United by 4pm, respectively.

Other top NPFL teams participating in the competition are Lobi Stars FC, defending Champions, Niger Tornadoes FC, and Kano Pillars FC.

According to the General Coordinator of the Tournament, Abuhuraira Dahiru, the pre-season tournament promises to live up to its pedigree as there will be Quarter-finals, Semi-finals’ actions before the final scheduled for 30th August, 2024.

The Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye’s NPFL Board had announced the commencement of the 2024/25 campaign on August 31st, with Nasarawa United hosting visiting Shooting Stars Sport Club of Ibadan on September 8th, 2024, at the Lafia City Stadium.
