Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Nasarawa State, Amb. Lucky Isaac Yargwa, on Friday, visited the Lafia City Stadium on an inspection tour.
Accompanied by some Management Staff of the Ministry, the Commissioner toured round the stadium after inspecting sites for the laying of artificial grass and tartan tracks works at the main facility.
The Commissioner also inspected works at the Hockey pitch, Handball and Volleyball Courts respectively.
Engineers were seen working assiduously to beat the deadline date.
Yargwa noted that though the job should have been completed within ninety days as agreed between the Government and the Contractor handling the project, Reform Sports West Africa, but unavailability of certain materials would see a slight extension of the completion date.
He said, “I think work is ongoing well, but we have told the contractor to speed up his effort to ensure quick completion.
“There are plans to also revamp the sitting terraces as work progresses.”
