The ancient kingdom of Isolo was thrown into excitement as Prince Isa Olakunle Abiodun Faronbi-Shekoni emerged as the town’s new traditional ruler, succeeding the late Oba Kabiru Agbabiaka who passed away on April 10, 2024.
At the formal presentation of Staff-Of-Office and Instrument of Appointment ceremony held at the Lagos State Ministry of Local Government Affairs/Chieftaincy/Rural Development, Alausa-Ikeja, Oba Faronbi-Shekoni thanked Almighty Allah, President Tinubu, Governor Sanwo-Olu, and other dignitaries present.
The new Osolo of Isolo promised to extend hands of friendship to other princes who vied for the throne. Commissioner for LG Affairs/Chieftaincy & Rural Development, Mr. Bolaji Kayode Robert, commended Governor Sanwo-Olu for ensuring a transparent and democratic process in the nomination of Obas.
Oba Faronbi-Shekoni, born on December 24, 1974, is a civil engineer and CEO of Ab Shakes Corporate Investment Ltd.
He was welcomed by his admirers in a convoy of exotic cars and later traversed Akinbaiye street on foot, acknowledging cheers from residents and bystanders.
The Sanwo-Olu administration has assured the people of Isolo of continued infrastructural development, and Oba Faronbi-Shekoni is expected to be a rallying point for communal peace and social development.
