The 2024 Osun Intercollegiate Games is set to kick off from November 20 to December 4, 2024, across four tertiary institution campuses in Osun State.
Organized by Ace Sports in collaboration with the Osun State Tertiary Institution Games (OSTIGA), Osun State Ministry of Education (Tertiary Institutions), Osun State Ministry of Sports, and other relevant bodies, the event aims to foster sporting relationships, spot talents, and encourage career development among tertiary institutions in Osun State.
Twenty-two institutions will participate in the games, with over 1,500 student-athletes competing in six sports: Football, Athletics, Table Tennis, Badminton, Chess, Scrabble, and Tug of War.
According to Olayiwola Olafiranye, Ace Sports Team Lead and CEO of Olafiranye Sports Foundation, “The Osun Intercollegiate Games will broaden and deepen the spirit of understanding and cooperation among management, members, staff, and students of participating schools.”
Olafiranye assured sports lovers of an interesting competition, promising collaboration with security agencies to ensure safety and orderliness. Professional umpires will officiate all games to ensure fairness and unbiased outcomes.
Mr. Agboola Akinbode, Chairman of the Osun Tertiary Institution Games (OSTIGA) Council, confirmed that all necessary arrangements are in place for a smooth and successful competition.
The 2024 Osun Intercollegiate Games promises to be a thrilling sporting festival, showcasing talented student-athletes from across the state’s tertiary institutions.
