Benin City, Edo State – Bendel Insurance Feeders team secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over St Andrews Foundation FC on Monday to advance to the quarterfinals of the 2025 Edo FA Cup tournament.
Miracle Oshodin was the hero of the day, scoring twice in the match played at the Crescent Club field. Oshodin opened the scoring in the 7th minute with a fine finish, and added his second goal in the 48th minute with a brilliant control and strike.
St Andrews pulled a goal back in the 53rd minute, but it was not enough to prevent Insurance Feeders from progressing to the next round.
The captain of Insurance Feeders, Osamuyi Egharevba, was voted Man of the Match and received a souvenir donated by the tournament sponsors, Peculiar Ultimate Concerns.
Insurance Feeders will face either their senior team, Bendel Insurance, or Restoration FC in the quarterfinals. The two teams are scheduled to play on Thursday at 9 am at the Crescent Club field.
In another match, City Rovers FC were awarded a 3-0 walkover victory over FC Deltra FC, who failed to show up for the game.
