Renowned sports management professional Damilola Pedro has been appointed as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Esports Federation of Nigeria. This move is expected to revolutionize the Nigerian gaming industry, leveraging Pedro’s expertise in sports marketing, partnerships, and project management.
As a visionary leader, Pedro has been instrumental in shaping the future of gaming in Africa. Her work as co-founder and COO at Gamr Africa, a pioneering gaming company, has created vast opportunities for emerging gamers and elevated African esports onto the global stage.
The National Sports Commission (NSC) has welcomed Pedro’s appointment, as it aligns with their commitment to developing esports as a mainstream sporting discipline in Nigeria. NSC Chairman Shehu Dikko and Director General Hon. Bukola Olopade inaugurated the Esports Federation’s board last week in Abuja, demonstrating their support for the industry’s growth.

With the NSC’s backing, the Esports Federation is poised to drive strategic initiatives that will solidify Nigeria’s position as a powerhouse in global esports. Pedro’s appointment is a significant step towards achieving this goal, and her leadership is expected to transform the Nigerian gaming industry.
